ABOUT HUSSAIN PASEMBUR KING

Started of by selling taukwa rendang by the late Haji O.S Ibrahim back in early 1900s with the help of 2 sons the late Ayub Khan and Omar. They used to 'kandar' which means having 2 baskets hanged on a long stick on their shoulder to sell their taukwa rendang to port workers on their break time. When the businesses was passed down to the 3rd generation, Hj Hussain introduced more variety of ingredients such as Cucur Kacang, Fresh Seafoods such as Prawns, Tiger Crab and Cuttlefish to cater and adopt to the local demand. A 3 wheel trycyle was used to mobile around streets such Lorong Pasar, Chulia Street, Muntri Street and finally touchdown in Padang Kota Lama. Since Padang Kota Lama is a seaside location and had plenty of place to set up tables and chairs more family crowds interstate tourists started to buy a plate of tasty Pasembur and have their personal tike with loved ones there. When the crowd was getting bigger year by year, the government built a foodcourt for the vendors operating there as there were only 2 Pasembur Stall license operating legally with license issued by the authority at that time and some other vendors selling Chicken Rice, Coconut Drinks, Mee Goreng, Nasi Ayam, Satay and few other dishes.
